The TWBS 2nd quad only came together after the National Schools Regatta and is unusual in that it has two J16s, one J17 and one J18 on board, a real blend of the senior squad. An exciting crew in their own right, with a very exciting future ahead of them.
A developing talent, Joey just last weekend was selected to the GB v France British Team Quad. Joey has shown an increasingly strong desire to reach the top of the U19s, having fought back from injury in the winter, with a lot of building blocks now in place. Sadly the J16 quads were cancelled at the Nationals, but in all the other major races Joey has performed to an exceptional standard for his age. Most definitely one for the future, and having just completed his GCSE's has firm goals for his future, including being ambitious to attend a USA university post A-Levels. One to watch for sure!
Dara has shown significant progress over the past 6 months. Successful at J16 level as part of the 'A' quad which included a British Team Vest at J16 level, Dara has multiple national titles to his name. Dara is very strong and powerful, his potential goes up and up, with better and better outcomes along the way. It will be interesting to see how far he can take it over the next few years, but he is ambitious, which includes a desire to attend a USA university.
Built like a body builder, Adam has learnt to use his undoubted physical potential. He's had to work very hard on the technical aspect in particular, but has done so with real determination. While disappointed not to make the 1st boat, Adam is a real team player, and is looking to attend Oxford Brookes, where it is believed that having just one oar will see him reach his full potential. He has had an outstanding U19 career with multiple National GOLDS, and a GB v France British team vest in 2024.
A real talent in the making, massively belied by his lightweight frame, to produce some exceptional ergo performances for his size, which he converts to the water at every turn. In the single, his ability to race without fear is undoubted, and having had some older brothers for inspiration, Castor is very ambitious as he progresses on from his J16 year. Highly academic, he too aims for the USA at University, but for the next two years he has the potential to be very exciting at U19 level. Highly respected in the WBSBC squads, well-liked, he has also developed into a very competent golfer out on the links too. An all-round sportsman!
